I believe if you go back to google.com again, it doesn’t reforward you. Regardless though, if you use Firefox (and you should), you can add quicksearches for whatever you want, and search from the address bar.

I was in Vancouver in January and used Google Transit – it was great. Vancouver is one of three Canadians cities that have offered their data to Google for these purposes.
