Wimax would be a good fit for Google. A WiFI/Wimax voice and data service would make more since for Google than trying to go with a new network bulidout. Android should not rely solely on Verizon’s open source move or Google building its own network from ‘scratch’.
I posted this idea too, a while back that is. I gave up on it because of how confusing this whole WiMax roll-out has gotten. I mean Sprint has been so off-and-on about their plans for Xohm. Then there’s the up-coming LTE which seems to blow WiMax out of the picture. It seems WiMax is basically extending WiFi’s roll, but I’m not sure how well it will satisfy the roll of enabling wireless broadband internet access.
